Medical insights are driven by medical data more and more processed by AI algorithms and software. The key of this method is the digitalization, the means for processing and deriving knowledge from the data are AI systems. Our unique approach is by using a privacy-by-design approach which leads to unique techniques, algorithms and systems. Key research topics are to “edgify” AI (edgeAI) – with allows to process most of the data on the frontend, to develop new approaches for pseudo- and anonymization but also the synthetizing of data to minimize personal data use. The efficient storing, communication and processing of huge data spaces, innovative algorithm development for processing data with high uncertainty and the reasoning of knowledge from such high uncertain data allow us to operate in realistic environments where data are very patchy.
