Research within KHeaT

The working group deals with the topics like optical simulation, visual perception, automotive lighting and metrology. Regarding optical simulation, a tool to calculate non-imaging optical systems for general lighting was developed: the so called OFFD. In automotive lighting many lightbased assisting systems have been investigated and developed that have made a significant contribution to road safety. In psychophysics, the group developed methods for the comparability or also the operationalization of psychophysical questions. An objective measurement method was developed and validated, which allows to describe the effects of short glaring light pulses on visual performance.
