Research within KHeaT
Research activities in the Luminescent Nanocrystals (LNC) group:
•controlled synthesis of high quality core and core-shell nanocrystals,
•advanced structural characterization,
•photoluminescence properties,
•surface functionalization.
A wide variety of compositions (e.g. rare earth-based fluorides, metal halide perovskites, metal oxides) and architectures (e.g. multi-shell) are investigated to target technological applications in three main fields:
1)health technologies (imaging, sensing, and therapy)
2)energy (photovoltaics, lighting),
3)catalysis (heterogeneous photocatalysis).
The main objective of the LNC group is to understand the structure-property relationships of inorganic nanocrystals to optimize their properties depending on the targeted application.
